つまり一か月あたり約20万円の利益 となります。
この仕入れに費やした時間は平均すると週に2日、1回の仕入は3時間程度です。
都会は仕入れられる商品が多い一方でライバルも多い
しかし田舎は逆に仕入れできる本は少ないがライバルがほとんどいません。
だからこそ「自分のルーティン店」を決めて定期的に回るのがコツです。

田舎せどりでは車が必須です。
ただし僕は「1日1店舗（多くて2店舗）」と決めています。

⏰ 田舎は特に専業より副業のほうが続けやすい
専業だと、地元の店舗の在庫を取り尽くしてしまい、
どうしても遠方まで仕入れに行かないといけません。
一方、副業なら本業をしている間に、
お店の棚が自然に入れ替わって仕入れ可能な在庫が回復します。
同じ店舗をルーティンで回るだけで、無理なく安定した仕入れが続けられるのが副業せどりの強みです。

せどりを続けるうえで大切なのは、
古物商許可を取得して正しく商売をすることです。
さらに、開業届も提出しています。
世間では「せどりは納税していない」と言われがちですが、
利益が出ていないだけで、少なくともタローさんのノウハウでやっている人たちは、
古物商取得＋開業届提出でしっかり運営しています。
副業であっても、責任を持ってやる姿勢こそが長く続けられる秘訣です。

In big cities, there are many items you can source — but also a lot of competition. Good books disappear in seconds.
In rural areas, the number of products is smaller, but there are almost no competitors, and sourcing is much more relaxing♪
That’s why it’s important to choose your “routine stores” and visit them regularly.

📚 What I Learned Over 4 Years of Book Sourcing
- Some stores prohibit reselling, while others are so friendly they bring you a basket.
- Knowing when sales happen will greatly improve your sourcing efficiency.
- Understanding the characteristics of each region and genre is key.

In rural book sourcing, a car is a must.
However, I limit myself to one store per day (two at most).
Why? It keeps things manageable and saves wasted travel time.
Even with that, I’ve never had a single day with zero purchases.
Even if another reseller visits before me, I can still find items — because I target different kinds of books.

If you want to continue this business long-term, make sure to get your Secondhand Dealer License (Kobutsusho) and operate properly.
I’ve also submitted my business registration, as transparency and responsibility matter.
Some people say “resellers don’t pay taxes,” but that’s simply because they aren’t yet profitable.
Those who follow Taro’s method, like me, run everything by the book — with both a license and a business registration.
That’s the key to building trust and keeping your side hustle sustainable.
👩👩👦 Running a Family-Based Sourcing Side Business
Back when I was still employed, side hustles were prohibited.
So, on weekends, I teamed up with my wife (then a full-time homemaker) to handle sourcing together.
- I shared Taro’s methods with her
