「読み終わった本、すぐに捨ててませんか？」
実は、買う段階から「あとで同じ値段かそれ以上で売れそうな本」を意識して選ぶと、立派な資産になります。いったんAmazonやメルカリで売ってみるのも面白いですよ。
サイファはこの考え方を不動産や株にも応用しており、最近注目される金や希少なスーパーカーも同じ。資本主義が続く限り、価値のあるものの受給バランスを見極める力が重要で、読む→使う→売る、というシンプルな循環でも十分に資産形成につなげられるのです。
今回は僕が田舎で実践した副業せどりの体験談を紹介します。

エンタメ大好きなサイファは40年前のAIの先駆けだった内容をAIに要約させました！
ウィノグラード＆フローレスの『Understanding Computers and Cognition』（1986）は、今読むと「当たり前」に感じる部分もありますが、当時はAIの世界観を根底から揺さぶる問題作でした。
- 主流だった「記号処理AI（GOFAI）」への根本批判
- 人間の認知には「身体性・文脈・状況」が不可欠
- コンピュータは「人と協調する道具」として再設計すべき
──こうした視点は、現在の「生成AI」「ユーザー中心設計」「状況的認知」「HCI」の基礎になっています。
つまり 1980年代にこの発想を出したのは、かなり先進的で異端な立場 でした。

💹 Keepa波形の見方（画像参照）
Keepaは、Amazon 価格の推移をグラフで確認できるブラウザ拡張機能およびWebサービスです。最安値や過去の販売履歴、ランキングの変動を追跡し、仕入れや購入の最適なタイミングを判断するのに役立ちます。僕はこれをメルカリの受給にも活用しています。
上側のグラフ：緑線 ランキングの推移
👉 グラフが下がる(良い)＝売れたタイミング。つまり売れ筋を示しています。
下側のグラフ：黒線 出品者数の推移
👉 グラフが下がる(良い)＝ライバルが減り、売れやすくなります。
⭐は僕が仕入れたタイミング
赤線を見ると、直近では5,000円以上で売れていることがわかります。
青枠を見ると 出品者が上下していて売れている可能性が高いことがわかります。
つまり、それだけ需要が高いということです。仕入れたタイミングは出品者が約20名という状況でしたが、仕入れ価格が安かった事及び販売、管理ノウハウがあれば利益が出せると思い仕入れました。

一括買取を上手く活用しよう！
例えば100冊仕入れたら、数冊は必ず赤字商品がでてききます。
値下げを繰り返すと、結局”手数料や送料の方が高くなって捨てた方がマシ！”という事が発生します
そんな時は一括買取を依頼して、ブックオフに引き取ってもらい捨てる手間を省いて管理スパンを小さくします。
僕も活用してますが、意外とネットよりも高く売れる商品もあります☆

“Do you throw away books right after finishing them?”
If you choose books with the idea that you can later resell them for the same price or more, they become real assets. Try selling them on Amazon or Mercari—you may find it surprisingly fun.
I apply this mindset not only to books, but also to real estate, stocks, and even to assets like gold or rare supercars. As long as capitalism continues, understanding the supply-and-demand balance of valuable items is a key skill. Even a simple cycle of read → use → resell can contribute to building wealth.
In this article, I’m sharing my personal experience with rural side-hustle book reselling.

As an entertainment-loving person, I asked modern AI to summarize this pioneering AI book from 40 years ago!
Winograd & Flores’ work (1986) may sound obvious today, but at the time it was a groundbreaking challenge to the AI worldview.
- A fundamental critique of GOFAI (symbolic AI)
- Human cognition depends on embodiment, context, and lived situations
- Computers should be redesigned as tools that cooperate with humans
These ideas later shaped modern concepts such as generative AI, user-centered design, situated cognition, and HCI.
Having these insights back in the 1980s was extremely innovative—and even radical.
Anyone from that era would be thrilled to see today’s AI agree with them!
📊 How to Read Keepa Charts (see images)
Keepa tracks the price history of Amazon products.
I use it not only for Amazon arbitrage but also to read supply-and-demand trends on Mercari.
Top graph: Green line = sales rank
👉 A dip (good) = item sold → indicates demand
Bottom graph: Black line = number of sellers
👉 A decrease (good) = fewer competitors → easier to sell
⭐ indicates when I sourced the book.
Recent data shows selling prices above ¥5,000.
Fluctuating seller numbers indicate strong demand.
I sourced the book when there were about 20 sellers, but because of a low purchase price and my sales management know-how, it was a profitable buy.

📦 Use Bulk Buyback to Reduce Losses
When you buy 100 books, a few will inevitably lose value.
If you keep lowering the price, fees and shipping can exceed the sales price.
In such cases, use bulk buyback services like BookOff.
I use them too—they sometimes buy books for more than online prices.
This helps secure cash flow, which is one of the most important strategies.
