今回の結論：天井をオイルステインで塗る
リビングの天井、どうするか考えた結果、ロックペイントのウォルナットのオイルステインで塗ってしまうことにしました^_^

Conclusion: I decided to cover the living room ceiling with Rock Paint Walnut oil stain.
選んだ理由（メリット）
- 安い（液は多分1,800円くらい）
Cheap (the liquid costs around ¥1,800) - 早い（約2時間、一度塗り）
Quick (about 2 hours, single coat) - 簡単（下処理なし。雑巾に液をつけて擦るだけ。ムラを残していいので誰でもできる）
Easy (no prep — just wipe on with a cloth; unevenness is fine, so anyone can do it)
築古物件によくある天井汚れをうまく誤魔化せました（笑）。
This nicely hid the common ceiling stains you often find in older properties — pretty satisfying (see photos).
材料・道具（目安） / Materials & Tools (approx.)
- ロックペイント オイルステイン（ウォルナット） — 約1缶（目安：1,800円程度）
Rock Paint Oil Stain (Walnut) — ~1 can (~¥1,800) - 雑巾（数枚）
Cloths (several) - ワトコオイル（ウォルナット） — 柱用（余りを使用）
Watco Oil (Walnut) — for pillars (leftover from Property #1) - シーラー（引き戸裏の下地処理用）
Sealer — for backing of sliding doors - ノボクリーン（白） — 引き戸裏の仕上げ塗装用
Noboclean (white) — finishing coat for sliding door backs - ビニール養生、マスキングテープ（周囲保護用）
Plastic sheets, masking tape — for protection
施工手順（簡易） / Steps (simple)
- 換気を良くする（窓・換気扇を開ける）
Ensure good ventilation (open windows, fans) - 天井周囲・家具を養生する（ビニールシート、マスキング）
Cover surrounding areas and furniture with plastic and masking tape - 雑巾にオイルステインを適量つけ、汚れ箇所を擦るように塗る（ムラを気にしない）
Apply oil stain to a cloth and rub it onto stained areas (don’t worry about unevenness) - 乾燥後、必要なら二度塗りで濃さを調整
After drying, recoat if a deeper color is needed - 引き戸裏はシーラーをしっかり塗ってからノボクリーンの白を一度塗り（塗装の付着と仕上がり向上）
For the sliding door back: apply sealer first, then one coat of Noboclean white for better adhesion and finish
塗装が薄くなれば後日重ね塗りします。今回はとにかく“安く・早く・手軽に”を優先しました。
If the coating looks thin later, I’ll add more coats. This time I prioritized cheap, quick, and easy.
補足 / Notes
物件近所のホームセンターにワトコオイルの取り扱いがなかったため、天井はロックペイントに変更しました。似た色味のオイル系製品で代替可能です。
Because the nearby hardware store didn’t carry Watco Oil, I switched to Rock Paint for the ceiling. Similar oil-based products with a matching tone will work as substitutes.
まとめ / Summary
- 築古物件の天井汚れはオイルステインで安く手早くカバー可能。
Old-house ceiling stains can be cheaply and quickly covered with oil stain. - 下処理を最小限にしても味として仕上がるのでDIY初心者向け。
Minimal prep still yields a characterful finish — suitable for DIY beginners. - 引き戸など見える場所はシーラーで下処理→白で仕上げが安心。
For visible areas like sliding doors: seal first, then finish with white for a clean look.
